Fossilized growth
white sculpture
I frequently dream of impossible combinations, strange imagery reflecting my fears and desires. These dreams blend opposites — life and death, beginnings and endings. Everything blurs. Where does reality end and unreality begin? Where does what I physically see and feel meet the hidden world within me? I find myself drawn to these dream worlds, wanting to stay within them. They are worlds crafted by my own consciousness.
This series juxtaposes form and texture. A living, dark, rough tree trunk contrasts with dead, smooth, empty geometric forms. A symbol of a living beginning and a dead end? Or perhaps the reverse? A merging of life and death.
